Top tips to keep your property in tip top condition – part 4

No-one said that maintaining your property would be easy. Or pleasant. But if you want to avoid those nasty surprises turning up unexpectedly, then it is essential.

The drainage chambers that lie on your property should be inspected periodically.  It is easy to ignore them until you start having problems but by then you have a very dirty job to face.

Are your gullies running clear?

Lift the cover of your inspection chamber and check that the gullies are flowing freely and that there is no build up of debris.  If there is, it may be a simple matter of a washing round using a hose-pipe.  A blockage may need to be cleared using a power hose.  These tasks could be done when you’ve finished cleaning your car.  Only if the build-up is ignored will it necessitate rodding or bringing in the drain experts to clear it.
